Great Barrington, MA – Speed is king for skiers and snowboarders who compete for the challenge.
Ski Butternut, the family mountain of the Berkshires will be hosting the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge on Sunday, January, 29, 2012. A day of racing, music, fun and giveaways. This is the longest running and farthest-reaching ski and snowboard race competition in the United States. This is the 22nd Season of the MDVC!
The event is open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities.
The Race is free, all you need to do is purchase a Lift Ticket and complete a registration form, children under 18-years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is open from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the race starting at 11:00 a.m.
Product samples, contests and raffles will be prevalent throughout the day and all race contestants will automatically be entered to win: a snowboard, Hot Finger Gloves, T-shirts, Sweatshirts, hats and more.
The Victory Party starts around 2:30 p.m. with a raffle and concludes with an awards ceremony for the top three finishers in each of the respective age categories for both male and female.
These winners will be presented with a medal, as well as a qualifying packet to attend the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge Finals at Mount Snow in Vermont, on March 31, 2011. Winners receive a FREE Lift Ticket for the finals at Mount Snow! Competitors who make it to the finals will be competing alongside some of the best skiers and snowboarders in the Northeast.
