LEARNING AREA

Enhanced learning terrain was achieved through the reorganization of all 4 of our carpets, after removing the Scooter double chairlift (Summer 2009) and its towers from the Scooter learning trail. This new beginner configuration started to take permanent shape. It now offers more room for those just learning to ski or those who have started skiing but are working on control. There is no need for us to ask 1st timers and young kids to ride a chairlift. Riding any chairlift was intimidating for some.

In the process we lengthened our Beginner Flying Carpet from 60 to 90ft. and rearranged the layout of the other two 160ft long beginner carpets on the Scooter beginner trail.

Ski Butternut has always been an ideal place for people to learn to ski or snowboard.DEAL for 1st Timers: We offer a $75 1st Timers 1-day Learn to Ski or Learn to Snowboard Package that includes a beginner area lift ticket, rentals and a group lesson for ages 7+. After your 1st day take advantage of our $100 All Mountain Package that includes: an all-mountain lift ticket, rentals and another lesson to keep you progressing.

SKI PATROL

Ski Butternut's Ski Patrol is here to serve you. There's no cost for their care. The Ski Patrol headquarters is conveniently located in the Ski Patrol building. You'll find it in the upper right corner of the main parking lot. There is also a building at the top of the Top Flight Quad chairlift and another at the top of the triple chair! Our Ski Patrol staff work closely with Fairview Hospital, in case of an emergency. We are fortunate that such a fine hospital is only 5 minutes away. It is located in downtown Great Barrington, Mass.

LOST & FOUND

The Ski Patrol handles LOST Hard goods: Skis, Boots & Snowboards, Radios, Cell Phones.

The Main Office handles LOST: Keys, Season Passes, Wallets, Jewelry and anything else of value.

Misplaced clothing items are temporarily kept in either the Upper Lodge or Lower Lodge in special storage containers before being transported to Ski Patrol.

Unclaimed clothing items are cleaned out on a weekly basis and anything usable is donated to a local charity.
